CIH has empowered the Healthcare Community since 1992, when black equity participation was first introduced into the sector. Since then, CI Health has become a major player in Healthcare in South Africa, with assets that span the manufacturing and distribution of medical & pharmaceutical supplies, the servicing of Healthcare equipment and the provision of comprehensive Healthcare services through Public-Private Partnerships (PPP).

Public-Private Partnerships

An important initiative for CI Health, allowing us to improve access to proper Healthcare as well as helping uplift the sector. Our current partnerships include UCT Private Hospital, Pelonomi Hospital and Universitas.

Community Hospital Management Services

Responsible for the management of hospitals owned by the group as well as providing Public-Private Partnerships with provincial hospitals such as Pelonomi and Universitas.

  • Pelonomi and Universitas Hospitals: Community Hospital Management responsible for the management of the hospitals owned by the Community Hospital Group. It also provides Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) with various provincial hospitals, such as Pelonomi and Universitas Hospitals, effectively co-locating private facilities in a public healthcare venue. The facilities operated by the consortium (Community Hospital Management or “CHM”) include approximately 270 private beds as well as six operating theatres. The first private patients were admitted to Universitas Private Hospital during October 2003, with the first being admitted to Pelonomi Private Hospital in September 2005.
